Rhys is a chartered Engineer and completed an MBA in 1999. Rhys developed his career as an asset management specialist in a variety of industries including Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Telecoms, Utilities and the Oil industry. Rhys’ roles have included systems design, consultancy, operations management and audit.
Rhys works at a senior management level with asset intensive organisations in Asia, Europe and North America in developing capabilities for competitiveness in the field of risk based asset management.
Rhys is the Chairman of the ISO Committee (ISO/TC251), leading 31 countries in developing International Standards for Asset Management.
He has been fundamentally involved in the development of BSi PAS 55 and was Vice Chair of the Steering Group for BSi PAS 55:2008. He is a regular speaker at events around the world on the subject of asset management.
He has been involved with the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) in a variety of roles, including IAM Board Member, IAM Council Member, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Joint IET/IAM Technical Professional Network for Asset Management.
Together with Danielle Humphrey, he wrote ISO 55000 Asset Management – A Biography (2016).
